What is SEO - Search Engine Optimization?

So you've read and heard a little about SEO or maybe you have no clue what I'm talking about?

SEO = Search Engine Optimization. In nutshell is the how and why you get traffic to your website.
All the major search engines use SEO to direct web users to the content they are looking for.

SEO is a process of making your website search engine friendly in order to receive natural "hits" to your website. The major search engines usually include Google, Yahoo and Bing. Natural hits is when your site shows up in the center section of websites in the "unpaid" section. The section to the right of the page is the "paid" search results. Those are paid ads that match your search term, also known as Paid Per Click (PPC).

One of the many ways to naturally get to the first page of search engines is to have lots of quality one way (or backlinks) pointing to your site.
